Is it free to use the directory?+
Yes. Searching, comparing attorneys, reading reviews and asking public legal questions are free for consumers, always. Attorneys pay for optional premium features — never for verification or ranking.
How do I find the right attorney?+
Start from Find a Lawyer and filter by state, city and practice area. Each profile shows bar admissions, experience, reviews and contact options, so you can shortlist two or three attorneys before reaching out.
What does the "verified" badge mean?+
It means we matched the attorney to an active state bar admission in good standing at the time of verification. Licensure data comes from official bar registries, not from the attorney’s own claims.
Is anything I write on the site confidential?+
No. Public Q&A and contact forms are not privileged channels. Keep questions general and save confidential details for a direct, engaged attorney-client conversation.
Does contacting an attorney here create an attorney-client relationship?+
No. An attorney-client relationship is formed only when you and the attorney expressly agree to one, typically through an engagement letter.

Why is my profile on the site if I never signed up?+
Basic profiles are built from public bar records, the same way legal directories have operated for decades. You can claim your profile to control its content, or contact us to flag inaccuracies.
How do I claim my profile?+
Search for your name, open your profile and select "Claim this profile". We verify that you control the professional identity before handing over the keys.
Can I pay to rank higher?+
No. Organic ranking cannot be bought. Premium plans offer clearly labeled featured placement and practice-growth tools, but they never alter organic order, ratings or disciplinary records.
How do I report an incorrect listing?+
Email editorial@lawyerslisted.com with the profile URL and the correction. Material errors are fixed promptly and annotated under our editorial policy.
Account, billing & privacy
How do I cancel or change my subscription?+
Manage your plan from your account dashboard, or email billing@lawyerslisted.com and we’ll handle it within one business day. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account or my data?+
Email privacy@lawyerslisted.com from the address on your account. We honor access and deletion requests under CCPA and our privacy policy.
How do I report a security vulnerability?+
We welcome responsible disclosure. Write to security@lawyerslisted.com with reproduction steps; we acknowledge reports within two business days.
