Andre F. Ducote was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, but raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He currently resides in Madison, Mississippi with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters Emma and Caroline. He is the son of Kepler and Tonette Ducote of Mandeville, Louisiana.

Mr. Ducote attended St. Richard’s Elementary School and St. Joseph High School, both in Jackson, Mississippi, before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1987, Mr. Ducote completed his primary education at Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then returned to Mississippi to attend the University of Mississippi. At the University of Mississippi, Mr. Ducote obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with emphases in History and English in 1992.

He is licensed to practice before all Mississippi state and federal courts. Mr. Ducote began his practice in Holly Springs, Mississippi. After short stays in both Holly Springs, Mississippi and Southaven, Mississippi, Mr. Ducote moved his practice to Jackson, Mississippi in 1996.

Mr. Ducote’s practice has always involved representing people. In law school, he conducted limited practice under a licensed attorney as a member of the University of Mississippi Housing Law Clinic. There, he represented low income individuals in residential housing disputes. During his practice, Mr. Ducote has represented individuals in criminal and domestic relations matters as well as individuals with personal injury, medical malpractice, employment discrimination and environmental/toxic tort claims in all state and federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Since joining Morgan & Morgan in 2010, Mr. Ducote’s practice became devoted to the field of workers’ compensation. This practice area includes representing injured workers before the Mississippi Workers’Compensation Commission and the United States Department of Labor, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Division. While Mr. Ducote’s practice is not concentrated in workers’ compensation, his diverse experience enables him to consult with clients on a variety of matters.

Mr. Ducote believes in the importance of education and views himself not only as a lawyer, but also an educator. In the past, he served as President and de facto legal counsel for the former Heritage School, a non-profit educational institution for children with learning disabilities. He has also served as a faculty member for National Business Institute, providing continuing legal education seminars to both lawyers and paralegals on matters such as mediation, discovery and mass volume document production and review. Mr. Ducote believes that an important element of the practice of law is the education of his clients as to their rights and liabilities and the legal process.

He and his family are active members of St. Columbs’ Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Mr. Ducote has served on various church boards and committees including the Vestry, New Rector Search Committee and the Capitol Campaign Committee. On several occasions, he and his wife co-chaired their church’s main building fundraiser. He has also provided volunteer services for the Mississippi Pro Bono Project, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, IONA House (a west Jackson, Mississippi food bank), and Habitat for Humanity.
