Throughout his career, Mr. Tobin has guided many clients through high-profile cases which attract intense media attention and have either changed or defined the law, including well-known cases for clients including Near North Insurance Brokerage, Jeremiah Mearday and Damarco Alexander.
Mr. Tobin began his career in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office on the elite Murder Task Force. He tried numerous capital cases and achieved an unprecedented number of acquittals in high-profile cases. He founded the law firm that would become Tobin & Munoz in 1985 and was soon joined by the late Hon. Robert J. Collins (1911-1997). Judge Collins sat as a felony court judge for over 25 years and also heard complex civil litigation.
In addition to being a frequent lecturer on cross examination, closing arguments and other litigation topics, Mr. Tobin is an instructor and faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, a premier provider of trial skills, training seminars and litigation-related resources for attorneys.
