As a member of the National College of DUI Defense, Dan stays current on new technologies in Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) cases. Dan is also one of the few attorneys in the region who has attended training at Axion Analytical Labs in Chicago, Illinois. Dan gained in-depth training in gas chromatography. This is the process used to test blood that is drawn in DWI cases. The blood is usually drawn with a blood search warrant.

Dan was born in El Paso, Texas, attended Cathedral High School, and fluently speaks Spanish. Dan became a paramedic in El Paso, Texas. He then moved to Galveston Island where he became a Paramedic/Team Captain for Galveston EMS. While working for EMS, Mr. Krieger completed the Police Academy at Galveston College - he was President of his academy class. Dan Krieger was hired by the League City Police Department.
Dan Krieger - Former Police Officer
Mr. Krieger served in several different areas of the police department, to include serving in the patrol division, marine division, SWAT. Dan was promoted to Sergeant as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Division. There, he oversaw investigations of all crimes in League City from theft to capital murder. After serving for nearly a decade in that role, Mr. Krieger was promoted to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, Dan Krieger was assigned to the newly-formed Office of Professional Standards, more commonly known as Internal Affairs.
While working at League City PD, Dan continued his education and obtained his bachelor's degree in criminal justice at the University of Houston - Downtown through a scholarship with the 100 Club of Houston. He graduated cum laude. Shortly after graduation, Dan started law school at the University of Houston Law Center.
While at UH, Dan was selected to be a member of the Law Center's prestigious mock trial team. Mr. Krieger traveled to Florida, Chicago, California, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico and won numerous awards arguing cases against some of the country's best oral advocacy programs. He was selected to the Order of the Barristers.
Dan Krieger - Former Prosecutor
After graduation, Mr. Krieger was hired as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney's Office where he learned how to try cases in some of the busiest courts in Texas. After leaving the District Attorney's office in 2009, Dan became a solo practitioner and opened his first office in League City, Texas under the mentorship of Greg Cagle and Kathleen McCumber. His litigation practice focused in the areas of criminal, DWI, and family law.
In 2014, Dan expanded his practice and opened a second office in Houston, Texas, which contained the Family Law Division, with Kathy Ongert.
After Mrs. Ongert's retirement, Dan was fortunate to partner with Christina Tillinger, a great friend and extremely skilled family attorney. They had litigated numerous cases against each other over the years and had developed a strong respect for each other's litigation skills.
In 2017, they formed Krieger & Tillinger, P.C., and remain focused on litigating criminal and family law cases in Galveston, Harris, Brazoria, and surrounding counties.
