Packard was employed in various management capacities for large Canadian and American manufacturers before attending the University of Colorado School of Law where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. Dave authored "A Test for Churning in Stock Options" in the Corporation Law Review, a national legal publication, and has taught many professional programs on antitrust law and other subjects. He has served as Chairman of the Antitrust Subsection and as a member of the Business Law Council of the Colorado Bar Association. In 1995 he was appointed by Governor Romer to a three-year term on the Committee on Anticompetitive Conduct, a subcommittee of the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners. He was elected chair of the Committee in 1996 and was appointed to an additional term in 1998. His off-hours activities include rafting, canoeing, tennis, backpacking, skiing and golf. Dave retired from active practice in 2013 and is now acting as special counsel to the firm.
