With over 34 years of trial experience as a former prosecutor, Dawn Farina has handled thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases—from aggravated murder and child sexual assault to DUI, drug trafficking, burglary, fraud, and firearms offenses. Her decades in the courtroom give her a keen ability to spot weaknesses in the prosecution’s case and turn them to her clients’ advantage. Dawn is experienced presenting and challenging forensic evidence and defenses such as self-defense, alibi, mental disease or defect, intoxication, DNA, fingerprints, gunshot residue, and cell-phone evidence. She spent 29 years at the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, rising to Chief of Staff where she supervised the office’s leadership and 218 employees, and previously led the Misdemeanor Unit that handled over 13,000 new cases annually. Dawn also created the City of Fife’s municipal prosecution program, served as legal advisor and trainer to law enforcement across Pierce County, and began her career as a public defender. A former president of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, she has received multiple community awards. Recruited to Puget Law Group, Dawn now uses her prosecutorial insight to zealously defend the accused.
