The head of the trial practice at Britcher, Leone & Sergio, LLC, located in Glen Rock and Morristown, New Jersey, E. Drew Britcher has spent more than 40 years practicing medical malpractice and personal injury law. Focusing his practice exclusively on litigation, he represents plaintiffs throughout northern and central New Jersey in medical malpractice, product liability and other personal injury matters. He has served as Counsel of Record or Amicus Counsel in nearly 45 reported decisions of the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He helped draft the New Jersey Patient First and Patient Safety Acts.

After graduating from Rutgers College with a B.A. in 1981 in Political Science, while also completing the major requirements of History and Secondary Education, Mr. Britcher attended New York Law School, where he was admitted to the Order of Barristers and named the Regional Graduate of the Year by the international legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi before receiving his juris doctor in 1984. Admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Mr. Britcher is Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey State Supreme Court and has been re-certified four times.

Mr. Britcher is one of only eight attorneys to have been ranked among the top 10 attorneys by New Jersey Super Lawyers for 10 years. In addition, 2025 marks the 20th consecutive year he has been named to the Top 100. In 2025, he was ranked #2 among all New Jersey attorneys by Super Lawyers. He was elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation in recognition of his support of the ideals, objectives, and work of the organization.

Recognized for his superior track record, Mr. Britcher has received numerous honors from his peers, including the Lawdragon 500, Leading Lawyers in America, Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers, Best lawyers in America, and the Distinguished Service Award from the American Association for Justice. He also has an AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

He is a past president of the New Jersey Association for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America-New Jersey Chapter (ATLA-NJ), and he has chaired their Amicus and Medical Malpractice committees for over two decades. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice. Mr. Britcher serves as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he teaches courses in medical malpractice law and litigation.
