Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1970 and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law in 1973. He was admitted to the Connecticut and Danbury Bar Associations in 1974, and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Supreme Court in 1980.
Mr. Smith is a past president of the Danbury War Memorial and the Danbury Kiwanis Club. He has served on the board of a local bank, the Bethel Democratic Town Committee, and various other Bethel Town Boards. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, and served in Bosnia and Croatia as a civil affairs and international law specialist in 1995 and 1996 when he was called to active duty by President Clinton.
Mr. Smith is presently the president of the firm. He resides in Bethel with his family.
