McCarter, of both Savannah and Gallatin, Tennessee, is a founding partner of McCarter | East PLLC, established in July 2009.Bert completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee, cum laude, in 1992, after previously attending the University of Tennessee at Martin and Aquinas College, where he played basketball until 1994. During his tenure at the University of Tennessee, Bert was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. After his graduation, Bert attended law school at the University of Dayton from 1997 to 1999, where he was on the prestigious Walter Rice Moot Court team. From 1999 to 2000, he completed his law school education at Vanderbilt University.In 2000, Bert served as law clerk for the Honorable Judge Don R. Ash of the Circuit Court for Rutherford County.
