Biography
Meet Heidi Feinberg — adoption lawyer in Rochester
Heidi Feinberg is an associate based in Rochester, NY. The practice focuses on Adoption, Appellate, and Child Custody. Heidi has over 23 years of legal experience. Rated 5.0 out of 5 from 1 client review.
Heidi is a litigator, focusing the last 10 of her 18 years of practice representing parents and children in a wide variety of family law matters including custody, child support, domestic violence proceedings, adoption, and appeals. Her area of focus is helping men and women navigate some of the hardest and most emotional experiences of their lives – divorce, custody, and related litigation.
As a result of her years of experience in all aspects of general civil litigation (including employment discrimination, contract and business disputes, guardianship, and estate litigation), as well as her experience with matrimonial and custodial issues, she is a formidable opponent in court and has the skills necessary to handle complex matrimonial and family litigation matters. Heidi also understands the financial and emotional toll these matters have on parents and children. She prides herself on being compassionate and practical in her approach with clients, while also employing a “big picture/no nonsense” strategy to get to the best possible outcome.
Heidi started her career handling estates and commercial litigation. In 2010, Heidi was a temporary law clerk for the Honorable Michael A. Telesca, Federal Court Judge for the Western District of New York, where she researched and drafted decisions for complex matters. Heidi transitioned into private practice, concentrating in family and matrimonial law matters, and has also worked for the Livingston County Conflict Defender’s Office. She has successfully tried hundreds of cases in State Supreme, Family, and local courts and has argued before the Supreme Court Appellate Division in the Fourth Department multiple times.
Heidi earned her Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law School in 2002. She was admitted to practice in the New York State Fourth Judicial Department in 2003, and in Federal Court in the Western and Northern Districts of New York in 2005, and the Southern District of New York in 2012. She has practiced in State and Federal court at all levels throughout the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Region for close to 20 years.
Heidi is a member of and President-Elect of the Livingston County Bar Association. She currently serves as a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Fourth Department. She was named an Up & Coming Attorney by the Daily Record in 2013, and a 2014 Rising Star in litigation by Upstate New York Super Lawyers Magazine.
