The office provides assistance to clients in onshore federal oil and gas leasing matters (particularly in the Gulf Coast, Michigan, and Appalachian areas), including the lease nomination and bidding process, assignments, communitization and unit agreements, and drilling permits; furnishes opinions and information on federal lease status; and assists clients in establishing original severance of land title from the public domain and in resolving severance issues.
