She is the past Chair of the Family Law Specialization Committee of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization and received the Howard L. Gum Service Award in 2008. She was elected to the Board of Law Examiners in 2007.

Ms. Meyer is the past Chair of the Family Law Continuing Legal Education Curriculum Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association and is a frequent course planner and speaker at Continuing Legal Education programs throughout the state. Ms. Meyer has recently lectured on the following topics: "Cohabitation Sufficient to Terminate Alimony," "Use of Wiretap Evidence," "Domestic Violence and Related Laws," "Divisible Property and Distribution of Marital Assets," "Family Law Basics -- Case Management," "Modification and Enforcement of Judgments in Family Law Cases," and "Rules 4 and 45 of the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure." Ms Meyer received the Super Lawyers award for top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina.

Ms. Meyer's hobbies are hiking and running. She has completed 61 marathons since 1994.
