He regularly presents at local, national, and international programs for attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals on topics involving tax law, business succession planning, international law, and trusts and estates.

Mr. Burton is a member of IR Global, where he serves on the Tax Steering Committee. He has served as President of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council, Chair of the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, and Northern California Forum Leader for Wealth Counsel. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California, as well as the Sacramento County Bar Association, where he previously served as Chair of the Tax Section. He also served for eight years on the Yolo County Planning Commission, including a term as Chair.
