Jim Hurley is a member based in Newport News, VA. The practice focuses on Aviation, Car Accidents, and Construction. Jim has over 36 years of legal experience. Rated 5.0 out of 5 from 1 client review.
Jim Hurley decided to become a lawyer to help people. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, he graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan in 1990. There, he received his degree Cum Laude and finished 10th in his class of 143 students. Mr. Hurley has practiced law since 1991. Since 1993, he has helped injured victims of motor vehicle accidents secure the compensation they need to make a full recovery. Although he has settled many cases for his clients, he has also had to aggressively litigate many cases in court throughout the State of Virginia. At Cooper Hurley - Injury Lawyers, we are firm believers that you must be prepared to take a case to trial to fully protect a client's rights. During Mr. Hurley's career, he has tried approximately 100 jury trials and been involved in hundreds of litigation matters that were settled before trial. Not only did Mr. Hurley litigate these cases, but he also spent extensive time with his clients to prepare them for trial. As a trial lawyer, Mr. Hurley believes one of his most important jobs is to ensure his clients understand the litigation process, so they can effectively and powerfully tell the jury the story of how their injury has changed their life.
Apart from jury trials, Mr. Hurley has tried hundreds of cases in front of various judges in Virginia, arguing cases in both State and Federal Court. Mr. Hurley is an active member of the American Association for Justice, the American Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, and the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association.
