Joseph (“Joe”) Alvarez was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Joe was admitted to the Florida Bar in September 2016, and accepted an associate position at Zisser Law, PLLC after clerking for the firm for almost two years. Joe started his legal career nine years ago as a freshman in college. During his first year at Valdosta State University he worked for a prominent workers compensation firm, Slappey & Sadd, LLC, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2009, while earning his Criminal Justice undergraduate degree, Joe developed a passion for family law and criminal defense while clerking at Dodd & Burnham, P.C., in Valdosta, Georgia. For almost five years Joe worked extensively with lawyers involving family law, criminal law, and personal injury cases.Shortly after graduating with honors from Valdosta State University, Joe pursued his studies at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. During law school, Joe clerked for Zisser, Brown, Nowlis, & Cabrey, P.A. and Zisser Law, PLLC where he researched and wrote memorandum of law that involved complex legal issues. During that time the partners at Zisser Law mentored Joe in the courtroom and during other legal proceedings. Joe's approach is no different than his mentors.
