Biography

About Matt Kahn — Attorney of Georgia medical malpractice experience

Matt Kahn is an attorney based in Atlanta, GEORGIA. The practice focuses on Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury. Currently practicing at Butler Kahn.

If you’re looking at my biography, it’s most likely because you or someone close to you has suffered an unimaginable loss – a serious injury or wrongful death. You’re making the difficult decision of which lawyer to hire among the thousands of lawyers in the state. My biography probably isn’t the first you’ve looked at. This page is for you, so you can learn what we can do for you and why we’re the best at it.

I represent people and families who have been critically injured or killed because of other’s negligence or wrongful conduct. From the minute you hire me, I’ll dig in. I’ll get out to the scene of the incident to investigate. I’ll hunt for witnesses and physical evidence. I’ll visit nearby businesses to look for camera footage. I’ll start building your case for trial from the very beginning of your case. My hard work adds value to your case.

Experience and results matter. I started my career handling catastrophic personal injury cases, complex business cases, and appeals. After four years, I realized that I wanted to dedicate my career to fighting for people and families. In 2019, I found my home at Butler Kahn. Since then, I’ve had the honor of working for families who’ve lost children in car, truck, and motorcycle accidents. My recent results include multiple 8-figure and 7-figure settlements, such as a $45 million settlement in a motorcycle accident case, a $40 million settlement in a guardrail case, a $30 million settlement in a pedestrian case, a $3.5 million settlement in a sexual assault case, a $1,050,000 settlement in a truck wreck involving a broken leg, a $1,000,000 settlement in a wrongful death shooting case, and many other confidential 8- and 7-figure settlements.

I went to Emory University School of Law where I served as a managing editor on one of the law journals. I took every opportunity I could to get real-world, practical experience that would help me be a better advocate for my clients, which included summer clerkships with the Honorable Sara Doyle at the Georgia Court of Appeals, a well-known insurance defense firm, an externship in the complex litigation department of a Fortune 500 company, and a summer at Fried & Bonder, which turned into my first job after law school.

Butler Kahn is not like other law firms. I only take on a small number of cases. That allows me to truly focus on developing each case. It also allows me to routinely communicate with my clients. Each of my clients has my cell phone number. We speak and text regularly. If you want to talk to your attorney, you should be able to. Don’t just take my word though, look at some of the video testimonials my clients have given.

I wouldn’t be a good advocate if I didn’t have a life outside of the practice of law. My passions outside of the law are food and music. I love to cook and eat. My favorite dish to make is a handmade rosemary-infused fettuccine served in a sage brown butter sauce. It takes hours to make, but it’s a labor of love. Our Atlanta office is on Buford Highway, so we’re a stone’s throw from the best pho, tacos, and dumplings in town. I also spend my free time writing jingles for the law firm. Watch some of them below!
