Maxime primarily advises clients doing business in the fields of technology, video games, digital media, film, television, publishing and music.

In the context of his broad legal practice in technology law, Maxime represents and advises clients in the negotiation and drafting of contracts related to all aspects of technology commercialization, including outsourcing agreements, software licensing, systems integration, and IT services.

In the field of entertainment law, he represents producers, broadcasters and distributors, from both the United States and Canada, regarding all aspects of the development, production, licensing and distribution of film projects, television programs, live stage performances and musical productions.

Maxime advises clients on a wide range of issues related to privacy law. He develops policies, responds to investigations conducted by regulatory authorities, conducts audits relating to privacy and system security, drafts outsourcing and service agreements involving the transfer of personal information, and assists clients facing challenges related to the protection of personal information.

Maxime also advises clients on matters related to intellectual property registration, litigation and licensing, particularly with respect to trademarks, domain names and copyrights.

Maxime is heavily involved as a volunteer in not-for-profit and professional organizations. He received the Order of Merit from the University of Ottawa and a Merit Award from the Quebec Bar in recognition of his deep engagement to community service. He is Chairman of the Board of the National Theatre School of Canada. He is also Vice-President of the Canadian Bar Association (Quebec Division). Over the years, he also held various volunteer positions with the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Canadian Bar Association (National), CAN-TECH and GRIS-Montreal. Maxime regularly provides pro bono advice to charitable foundations with respect to the advertising of their fundraising campaigns. He was also a member of the organizing committee of the Legal.IT Conference in Montreal.
