Michael Ricchi joined McCathern in 2019 as an associate attorney working predominantly with family law clients. A native of Collin County, Michael joined a rapidly growing Family Law practice that is the trusted source in North Texas for effective and caring representation in domestic litigation cases. In recognition of his work, Michael was named to the prestigious Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list for Family Law in 2023 and 2024, for Family Law - Arbitration and Mediation in 2024, and for Commercial Litigation in 2024.

In addition to family law, Michael assists McCathern with its renowned Business and Commercial Litigation practice, gaining invaluable experience from the firm’s litigation work at the state and local level.

Michael graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2019. He was executive editor of the Journal of Animal and Natural Resources Law and competed for a year and a half on the Board of Advocates Trial Competition team.

While in law school, Michael clerked at a Michigan firm working primarily in family law and was a legal intern at The Nature Conservancy, where he conducted legal research and writing. In the summer of 2017, Michael was a transportation division law clerk with the Texas Attorney General’s office in Austin.

Before attending law school, Michael earned a B.S. in biology from Texas Tech University. While there, he was vice president of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and served as judicial board member of the Interfraternity Council. Before attending Texas Tech, Michael played Division I baseball at Presbyterian College. There he honed the abilities to work under pressure and as part of a team, skills he utilizes each day while serving clients at McCathern.

Michael believes strongly that to whom much is given, much is also required - a creed that aligns perfectly with McCathern’s goal of Improving People’s Lives. As a family law attorney and litigator, he works every day to give his very best to his clients so that they can navigate legal matters in the most effective and efficient way possible.

When not practicing, Michael enjoys watching Dallas Cowboys football and playing golf.
