Michael Ventura, a shareholder in the firm’s Partners department, is the founder of Ventura, Miesowitz, Keough & Warner. Since launching the firm in January 1981, he has developed a civil litigation practice that spans personal, commercial, and Chancery Division matters. The Chancery Division has repeatedly appointed Mr. Ventura as Receiver/Fiscal Agent, relying on him to step in, manage operations, and oversee the sale of businesses and commercial properties tied up in litigation. He and his team have litigated hundreds of personal injury and workers’ compensation claims, achieving strong recoveries. Mr. Ventura also brings extensive business litigation experience, representing major banks and corporations in complex commercial disputes. Earlier in his career, he spent thirteen years as house counsel to an insurance company and handled hundreds of insurance defense matters. In addition, he has significant experience in estate litigation, will contests, formal accountings, and substantial matrimonial actions. Mr. Ventura graduated from Boston College (B.A. 1974) and Seton Hall University School of Law (J.D. 1978). He has served on bank advisory boards, founded two nonprofit organizations, and supported charitable causes through board service. He is a member of several bar associations, has served as a Trustee of the Union County Bar Association, was President of the Summit Bar Association, and served on the Union County Ethics Committee.
