Michelle Wortmann, Esq. is an associate at the law firm of Sarno da Costa D'Aniello Maceri LLC. She joined the firm in September 2016, and since that time has devoted the entirety of her practice to dealing with all types of family law matters, including but not limited to divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, palimony, post-judgment issues, and domestic violence.

Michelle earned her Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2015. While attending law school Michelle participated in the Seton Hall University Center for Social Justice Family Law Clinic, where she handled cases involving complex matrimonial issues, including custody and parenting time. She also completed various family law internships, including with the Honorable Daniel J. Yablonsky, J.S.C., and the Administration for Children’s Services in New York City. Prior to joining the firm, Michelle completed judicial clerkship for the Honorable Marcella Matos-Wilson, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County, Family Part, from August 2015 to August 2016.

Michelle is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar and the New York State Bar. She has been a member of New Jersey State Bar Association since 2015, and currently serves on the Family Law Executive Committee, Young Lawyer’s Subcommittee. She is also a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, the Essex County Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association, and the Barry Croland Family Law Inn of Court, where she participated in a panel on pendente lite applications. Michelle also volunteers her time with the Volunteer Lawyer’s for Justice.

In January 2019, Michelle earned a Master of Arts degree in Child Advocacy. While earning her Masters, Michelle was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society. Michelle attended Montclair State University for her undergraduate education, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, majoring in history and minoring in political science, while simultaneously completing the requirements to obtain her New Jersey Teaching Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in Social Studies. While in college, Michelle was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Theta National Honors Societies.
