About Nancy B. Pollack — Over 42 years of Maryland criminal defense experience
Nancy B. Pollack is an associate based in Bethesda, MD. The practice focuses on Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Litigation. Nancy has over 42 years of legal experience. Currently practicing at Pels Law.
Nancy B. Pollack is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Law. During college, law school, and after graduation, she clerked in the Juvenile, Felony Trial and Appellate Divisions of the Baltimore Public Defender’s Office, where she gained experience in research, and writing, and trial preparation. Following her clerkship, Ms. Pollack put her experience to good use as an Assistant Public Defender representing juveniles and adults in delinquency and criminal court proceedings.
Later, as a Baltimore Assistant State’s Attorney, Ms. Pollack served as first chair prosecutor in over fifty jury trials in cases from auto theft to homicide, with a special assignment to felony narcotics prosecution.
Ms. Pollack has also served hundreds of clients in the private sector, in both civil and criminal matters. She has litigated wrongful death, insurance coverage, motor tort, zoning, and landlord tenant matters, to name a few.
At the same time, interest in public service has led Ms. Pollack her to use her skills to assist pro se parties at legal help lines run by the Women’s Law Center where she supported litigants in family law cases and assisted victims of domestic violence.
Ms. Pollack has also designed and taught legal research and writing to students at Stevenson University’s (formerly Villa Julie College) four-year paralegal program.
She holds a B.A. in Near Eastern Studies from Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated with General and Departmental Honors.
Ms. Pollack is married and is also a jewelry designer and instructor in jewelry techniques. Her work has been published in books and national magazines, and is displayed in several galleries.
She is admitted to practice in Maryland (1985).
