He is a frequent lecturer and author on topics regarding bankruptcy, construction and real estate for the State and Maricopa County Bar Associations, the Arizona State University Alumni Association and various professional groups. Mr. Nussbaum has spoken at regional presentations sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute on a variety of bankruptcy-related subjects.

He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona (Bankruptcy, Real Estate and Construction Sections), Scottsdale Bar Association and Maricopa County Bar Association. Mr. Nussbaum is a former Director of the Scottsdale Bar Association and the Maricopa County Bar Foundation. He is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Nussbaum’s honors include selection to Southwest Super Lawyers® (2007-present), and selection to Arizona’s Top 50 Super Lawyers of 2012, 2013 and 2017. Mr. Nussbaum’s involvement has included his chairmanship of the Bankruptcy Ambushes Lurking in the Legal Jungle seminar, his years of dedication to the High School Mock Trial program and his presentation of What’s New in the Law at the Scottsdale Bar monthly luncheon meetings.

Mr. Nussbaum is extensively involved in his community. He is a 1990 graduate of the Scottsdale Leadership Training Program and served on its Board of Directors from 2002 to 2006, serving as Vice President from 2004-2005. He sat on the Scottsdale Environmental Quality Advisory Board from 1999 until 2005 and was the Citizens Chairman for Envirokids Fest 2004-2006. Since 2002, Mr. Nussbaum has served as a board member for the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and has been serving as its Advisory Board Chair since 2010. From 2007-2009, Mr. Nussbaum chaired the Center’s Night Run for the Arts. He currently serves on the Scottsdale Cultural Council’s Executive Council and its Development Committee. Mr. Nussbaum also serves on the Council’s Board of Trustees to which he was appointed in 2011.
