Biography

Rob McAngus, adoption attorney serving Dallas

Rob McAngus is a partner based in Dallas, TX. The practice focuses on Adoption, Child Custody, and Child Support. Rob has over 14 years of legal experience. Currently practicing at Mueller Family Law. Rob works from Dallas, Texas and takes on adoption matters across the region.

Rob joined Verner Brumley Mueller Parker, P.C. in 2017. Since that time, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Family Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association and serves as a member of the Bill Review Committee for the Texas Family Law Foundation, and a board member for the Dallas chapter of the Christian Legal Society. Rob is also a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, Texas Bar Foundation and the Annette Stewart American Inns of Court.

Rob has been named a Rising Star by Texas Monthly’s Super Lawyers (2016-2020), recognized by the National Advocates (2019-2021), and is currently listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2021. He is Board Certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Rob’s practice is devoted primarily to family law, including high conflict divorces, custody cases, and complex property issues, but he also works in the area of special education law. His overriding goal is to help and improve the lives of those in need during a difficult time in their lives. As both an adopted child and a member of a blended family, Rob can provide a unique perspective in the practice of family law. He is court appointed as an amicus attorney.

A native Austinite, Rob received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree cum laude from Baylor University and subsequently graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.

Rob has written articles and made presentations on family law issues to local and state bar associations. When addressing groups on the benefits of staying married versus the challenges that face those who decide to divorce, he tells clients that “the only people who win in divorce are those who stay married.” He would much rather see people resolve their differences, but unfortunately, divorce is a reality. If a client feels divorce is inevitable, they can be assured Rob will be a zealous advocate for them.
