He graduated from Columbia College and New York University School of Law. After practicing criminal defense law through the 70's he turned to matrimonial and family law, in which he has specialized since the late 70's. He is a leader of the Bar, being a member of various associations, including the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In all of these associations he has held office and/or done committee work in the area of family law.
