Vermont Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Attorney

I have been practicing law for more than 40 years, and I am a founding partner in the firm. I have chosen to specialize in helping people with personal injuries because I care. I represent injured workers in their workers’ compensation claims and people who have been injured due to the negligence of others.

One case that was particularly meaningful for me was when I represented a man who had been a laborer all of his life. He was essentially at the end of his career and he fell and injured his back. He had no high school diploma and he was functionally illiterate. My client was filled with common sense and was a very likable guy. The workers’ compensation insurer denied his claim and we fought for years to get him the benefits he deserved. It took us finding the right expert to make his case a winner. Although the case lasted for several years, the client did not give up hope. We won his case and got him what he wanted. At the end of his case, my client told me “That was a nice piece of work, Ron.” That made me feel great. That is why I enjoy doing this type of work.

The experience that I am able to bring to my clients means that they gain insight into their situation that they otherwise might lack. Because I have handled so many cases, I know all the stakeholders such as adjusters, other attorneys, treating providers, experts, court staff, and administrative officers - and they know me. My reputation for integrity and perseverance helps to bolster my clients' cases, and my knowledge of the process helps to ease their anxiety.

Outside the office, I enjoy living in central Vermont and take pleasure in cooking for friends and family. Long-term, meaningful relationships with people are very important to me.
