About Ryan Eady — Over 15 years of Texas criminal defense experience

Ryan Eady is an attorney based in Dallas, TX. The practice focuses on Criminal Defense, DUI/DWI, and General. Ryan has over 15 years of legal experience. Currently practicing at Michael & Associates.

Ryan Eady is a board-certified criminal law specialist and senior trial attorney with more than 14 years of courtroom experience handling serious criminal cases across Texas. A former First Assistant District Attorney and Chief Felony Prosecutor, Ryan brings an insider’s understanding of how prosecutors evaluate, charge, and try cases—experience that directly benefits Michael & Associates clients.

Ryan began his career in 2012 as an Assistant District Attorney in Midland County, prosecuting felony cases and later serving as Lead Domestic Violence Prosecutor. In 2017, he joined the Johnson and Somervell County District Attorney’s Office, where he was appointed Chief Felony Prosecutor for the 413th District Court. There, he led trial teams and handled complex felony prosecutions, asset forfeiture matters, and civil commitment hearings, while also representing the State in seven appeals before Texas Courts of Appeals.

In 2022, Ryan was promoted to First Assistant District Attorney, becoming the senior managing attorney overseeing prosecutorial operations and trial teams across three district courts. This role refined his strategic judgment and gave him a comprehensive view of how criminal cases are assessed, negotiated, and litigated from intake through trial and appeal.

After more than a decade as a prosecutor, Ryan transitioned to private practice in 2024, joining Curnutt & Hafer, L.L.P. as Senior Counsel before joining Michael & Associates as a Senior Trial Attorney in November 2025. He now applies his prosecutorial insight to building disciplined, trial-ready defenses and identifying weaknesses in the State’s case early.

Ryan has served as lead counsel in more than 75 felony jury trials and brings over 12 years of prosecutorial experience into every defense. He is known for meticulous preparation, clear communication, and steady courtroom execution.

Ryan earned his B.A. in Psychology from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law. He has also completed specialized training in Digital and Computer Forensics through the U.S. Secret Service, equipping him to analyze and challenge complex digital evidence.

A native Texan, Ryan Eady exemplifies the Michael & Associates standard: senior-level representation, disciplined trial strategy, and an unwavering commitment to protecting his clients’ freedom and future.
