Theodore S. “Ted” Eittreim has been practicing family law for over twenty years, and since 2003, he has been focused exclusively on assisting clients in this difficult and highly emotional area of the law. Ted is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, one of only thirty-four family law attorneys so-designated in the entire State of Georgia, and he is the current Chairperson of the Family Law Section of State Bar of Georgia.

In his family law practice, Ted concentrates primarily on representing his clients in complex divorce cases, which typically involve the division of significant assets as well as addressing highly-contested custodial and parenting time issues. In addition to representing clients in complicated divorce actions, Ted also handles all manner of other family law matters including initial custody and parenting time determinations through paternity and legitimation cases for non-married parents, child support actions, the negotiation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as conflicts that arise after a divorce has been finalized, such as contempt actions, modification cases dealing with custody, parenting time and child support, and appeals to the Georgia Appellate Courts.

Among other accolades, Ted has been listed among the Best Lawyers in America every years since 2018, and he was recognized as the Family Law "Lawyer of the Year" in 2020 and again for 2023 for all of Atlanta by Best Lawyers. He has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer in the area of family law every year beginning in 2014, and he has been named a "Top 100" Super Lawyer, listed as one of the top 100 attorneys in the entire State of Georgia, every year since 2020. In addition to being the current Chairperson of the Family Law Section of the State Bar, Ted has been on the Executive Committee of the Section since 2017, serving in various roles and positions, including being the Editor of the Family Law Review, the quarterly periodical published by the State Bar and the Family Law Section. Ted is a frequent speaker on family law topics at continuing legal education programs and seminars, and he enjoys membership in several organizations that recognize professionalism and excellence in family law practice, including the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, where he is a Master and a member of the Executive Committee, currently serving as the Membership Chair. Ted is also a member of several bar and professional associations, including the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. He is also an adjunct member of the faculty at Emory University School of Law, guest lecturing on family law and trial practice topics, and teaching the Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques, one of the most highly regarded and intensive trial skills programs offered at any law school in the nation.

Ted graduated from the University of Virginia in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in history. Immediately thereafter, he relocated to Atlanta to attend Emory University School of Law, graduating in 1998 with his law degree. While Ted has called Atlanta home for over approaching thirty years, he grew up in the shore town of Rumson, New Jersey, and he maintains significant ties to his original home state, including being licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
