Biography
Meet Thomas McCall — business lawyer in Houston
Thomas McCall is an attorney based in Houston, TEXAS. The practice focuses on Business, Energy, and Litigation. Currently practicing at The Norris Firm PC.
Thomas McCall is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group, where he handles a wide range of complex litigation, with a focus on energy-related matters and commercial disputes. Thomas advises and represents energy and other industry clients in a variety of complex litigation matters. He represents plaintiffs and defendants and draws on this experience on both sides of cases to help clients make effective, strategic decisions at every stage of a dispute: from early strategy development, through pre-trial discovery, depositions, and settlement negotiations, and in the courtroom, including in trials and appeals. He has represented local, national, and multinational clients in disputes across Louisiana, as well as in Texas and Delaware. Thomas works collaboratively with in-house counsel, senior executives, and key stakeholders — as well as other outside counsel and subject-matter experts — to provide coordinated representation and develop practical solutions that accomplish his clients’ objectives. In his energy practice, Thomas has successfully represented companies as plaintiffs seeking to enforce drilling, service, and other types of contracts and related agreements. He has also defended numerous energy-related suits, including disputes involving breach of contract, property damage, contamination, land loss, subsidence, restoration, purchase and sale of minerals, working interest owner disputes, and other claims with respect to oil and gas operations. In addition to his energy work, Thomas has developed a strong insurance and indemnity practice and advises clients on a broad range of insurance coverage matters: from the initial acquisition of policies, through the claims process, and, if necessary, in litigation. Thomas has developed a focus on the prosecution of insurance recovery claims for clients to obtain coverage under various types of insurance policies, such as commercial general liability and pollution liability policies. Thomas has also represented a broad range of clients in other complex, commercial litigation matters, including property, contract, and accounting-related disputes, as well as in suits alleging personal injury and economic loss. Before joining Jones Walker, Thomas served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Brian A. Jackson of the US District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Thomas is a native of Lake Charles and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Texas.
