Litigation Attorney Helping Individuals and Businesses in the Evansville, Indiana area.
Todd C. Barsumian was selected by Indiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2009, 2011 and 2012. The Rising Star designation is an honor bestowed on no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the State of Indiana by their peers. Also in 2012, Todd was selected to The National Trial Lawyers Association: Top 40 under 40 for the State of Indiana.
After spending 12 years at the Evansville law firm of Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, LLP, where he was a litigation partner, he established Barsumian Law in 2010.
Todd has an exceptionally wide range of litigation experience. He successfully represented a severely injured child in a negligence and product liability case that prompted a national recall of a product purchased off the shelf of a Tri-State retailer. He has also defended corporations in similar cases and counseled manufacturers on product safety and recall issues. His knowledge of both sides in evaluating cases is a valuable asset for clients.
In addition to personal injury and product liability, his litigation experience includes cases of commercial and semi truck accidents, unfair business competition, misuse of trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks and domain names, breach of contract and even a fraud claim involving the authenticity of marginal notations claimed to have been made by Leonardo da Vinci. In 2011 Todd obtained a six figure negligence and nuisance jury verdict and judgement on behalf of a local manufacturer in an 8-day jury trial against a municipality and its water and sewer utility for damages sustained by the manufacturer arising out of flooding caused by a poorly maintained creek channel.
Todd is a former board member of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, 2008-2010, and was Chair of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana Product Liability Section in 2007.
Todd is experienced with the concerns of both sides, which helps him approach a case slightly differently than others might. He is a registered mediator in Indiana and embraces alternative dispute resolution when it is in his client's interest.
