Before joining Hellmuth & Johnson, Daniel’s experience included representation of a diverse range of commercial clients in a variety of legal matters ranging from construction and lien law, general corporate representation, commercial contract negotiation and drafting, internal/corporate governance, shareholder disputes, commercial transactions, pre-litigation dispute resolution and complex commercial litigation.
On the corporate side, Daniel has counseled and advised closely held companies on a diverse range of issues including contract negotiation and drafting, entity formation, drafting of corporate charters and bylaws, general corporate representation, risk mitigation, legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and shareholder disputes, among many others. Daniel has particularly extensive experience in reviewing and negotiating power supply contracts.
On the litigation side, Daniel has served as both lead and managing counsel in hundreds of complex commercial litigation matters around the United States on behalf of large financial institutions, contractors, insurers, closely-held and publicly-traded businesses and many others, including some of the largest financial institutions and commercial equipment lessors in the United States. His broad commercial litigation experience has resulted in expertise in multiple specialties, including financial services law and litigation, mortgage loan servicing defense, construction defect litigation, mechanic’s liens and payment bond claims, commercial and residential real estate litigation, creditor’s remedies, and insurance coverage litigation. His work on behalf of his clients resulted in recognition as a Minnesota Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for eight consecutive years.
