David Byron is originally from Orlando, Florida, and relocated to Gainesville in 2006. Following the tradition of other proud “Double Gators”, David graduated from the University of Florida with honors in 2010 and began law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law the same year. While in law school, David was the Editor of the Journal of International Law and graduated with honors in 2013.

In October of 2013, David joined the State Attorney’s Office for the Eighth Judicial Circuit as an Assistant State Attorney, where he pursued his passion for trial litigation, trying numerous cases before juries in Alachua and Levy County. In February of 2016, David joined the felony Special Victims Unit, where he represented our most vulnerable citizens, prosecuting crimes including sexual battery, homicide, and domestic violence.

In February 2020, David joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. As a Federal Prosecutor, David prosecuted sophisticated Federal criminal cases, including child exploitation, RICO, drug trafficking, cybercrime, fraud, and national security matters. David also provided training to law enforcement on a variety of subjects, guest lectured at the UF Levin College of Law, and coached the Levin College of Law White Collar Competition Trial Team in 2021 and 2022. In his career, David has tried over 45 jury trials.

David brings his legal knowledge, experience as a trial attorney, and passion for representing his clients to every case at Morgan & Morgan. He believes that effective representation begins with trust, and enjoys meeting his clients and working to understand their experiences and how to best represent their interests, either through reaching a successful settlement or vigorously litigating their case at trial. David has been a proud Gainesville resident since 2006, where he lives with his wife, a Plant Pathologist at the University of Florida, and their daughter.
