David Orestes Caballero is a Partner in the firm’s Miami and Key West offices. He primarily focuses his practice on federal and state civil litigation in the areas of automobile negligence, product liability and hospitality defense. Mr. Caballero has defended numerous manufacturers and retailers of products including aircrafts, automobiles, tractor trailers, large trucks, motorcycles, maritime vessels, watercrafts, engines, high-voltage batteries, e-cigarette products, tires, vehicle restraint and occupant protection systems, heavy equipment/machinery, construction tools, and industrial machines. He also practices law in the areas of marine law, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy.

Mr. Caballero has defended numerous resorts, hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, vendors, tour operators and commercial entities in multiple jurisdictions including Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a member of the firm’s hospitality, marine/admiralty, and product liability practice groups.

Mr. Caballero graduated with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and Management and minor concentrations in Business Administration and History. Mr. Caballero was also a member of the Carnegie Mellon University football team while an undergraduate. Mr. Caballero received his law degree from the Florida International University College of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List and graduated top 10% of his class.

Mr. Caballero was named one of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite “Top Up and Comers” in 2013. In 2018-2020, He was named as one of Florida’s top “Rising Stars” by Super Lawyers Magazine, which is awarded to less than 2.5% of the attorneys in the state. Additionally, Mr. Caballero was honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by receiving the Top 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers of South Florida award in 2018.
