Deonte received his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida and his juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law. While in undergrad, Deonte was an honoree selected to represent the University of South Florida as a Tallahassee Internship Program participant, where he worked in the state’s capitol in the President of the Senate’s Office. While attending law school, Deonte worked as a Certified Legal Intern with the Clearwater City Attorney’s Office and later with the Office of the State Attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit where he prepared and conducted trials that resulted in guilty verdicts.

Deonte brings years of insurance industry and insurance defense experience. Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Deonte worked for two of the nation’s largest automobile insurers holding positions on both the business side where he worked with company directors and senior management, and the legal side as in-house counsel. As in-house counsel he successfully obtained resolution of cases through dispositive motions, and by leading global settlements that resulted in the dismissal of hundreds of pending cases.

Outside of the practice of law, Deonte enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching his children’s baseball and football teams, playing hockey, cooking, and watching movies.
