Mr. Cruz advises and represents business clients in wage and hour matters. He provides advice to help clients avoid costly, disruptive investigations, compliance audits and employee lawsuits about overtime pay, commissions, proper employee classifications, worker designations, payroll and time records. When businesses are called for investigative audits, Mr. Cruz prepares them, and represents them in subsequent litigation in both state and federal court, for claims brought under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

He defends clients in matters relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including physical barrier and website accessibility claims, with compliance of Title III of the ADA, and with workplace accommodation and discrimination claims. Mr. Cruz advises and defends businesses against whistleblower claims to mitigate risk, and in claims of sexual harassment, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, and retaliation.

Prior to joining KDV, he practiced law in Miami, FL, representing clients on labor and employment issues, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation matters. He also litigated compliance matters in regard to workplace laws including the Family Medical Leave Act) the ADA, and Title VII.

Mr. Cruz is fluent in Spanish.
