Elizabeth, a daughter of a retired United States Air Force Flight Engineer, grew up in Niceville, Florida. After graduating from Niceville Senior High School, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she worked in the legal field while obtaining her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting, from the University of Texas at Dallas. Before deciding to study law, she worked at several high-profile litigation boutiques in Dallas, Texas and a personal injury firm in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2004, she graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law, magna cum laude. After graduation, Elizabeth moved to Washington, D.C. for a federal clerkship with the Honorable Susan G. Braden, United States Court of Federal Claims. Following her clerkship, she practiced law at Skadden Arps, LLP in Washington, D.C. for ten years until returning home to the Panhandle in 2016. She practiced for a number of years at a local law firm before joining Matthews & Matthews, LLP in 2024.
