The telephone pole is only 40 feet in the air. That doesn’t sound so high until you are at the top and now you have to get your feet on the top and stand up on it. Gary is participating in a leadership program. Climbing this pole, and then standing on top is a part of the team building exercise. He’s wearing a helmet in case he slips. And there are ropes attached to keep him from falling. His team is below, holding the ropes and cheering him on. He takes a breath, ignores the fear, stands up and raises his hands!

That is who Gary Thompson is. A fearless attorney. Gary’s fearless attitude suits him well in traffic court, and in negotiating traffic accidents with insurance companies. When arguing tickets in front of judges, or negotiating with insurance companies you can’t be fearful or intimidated. The stakes can be high if you lose. Clients are facing large fines, traffic school, or not being able to pay medical bills. Letting the fear get to you can be the difference between winning and losing. And that is why Gary wins more cases than he loses.

Gary graduated from University of Las Vegas Nevada (UNLV) with a business degree. He then went on to earn his law degree from the University of San Diego. Gary began practicing law in 1995, and is licensed to practice in the State of Nevada. Gary is also admitted to practice law before all District Courts in the State of Nevada, as well as the U.S. Federal District Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Most Memorable Case?

A client was pulling out of Smith’s Grocery and his mirror clipped the other car’s mirror. He checked and didn’t see any damage so started to drive away. The other driver comes out of Smith’s and starts screaming at my client. My client points to the mirror and show’s no damages, then drives away. An hour later a policeman knocks on his door and gives him a traffic ticket for leaving the scene of the accident. We got the whole ticket dismissed because there was no damage. You can leave the scene of an accident if there are no injuries, and there is no damage.

What Makes You a Good Traffic Attorney?

My experience and knowledge of the traffic courts. I’ve been handling tickets in all the courts surrounding Las Vegas for more than 20 years. I know the traffic laws and more importantly I know how the judges like to apply these laws.

What Makes You a Good Traffic Accident Attorney?

Many attorneys out there are about them, and their fees. They don’t really care about the bottom line from the client’s perspective. I have a background in accounting and understand that if a client goes to trial they may not end up more money. The attorney will make more money for going to trial, but not the client. The key to being a good traffic accident lawyer is negotiate a settlement without going to trial. This maximizes the client’s bottom line, instead of the attorney’s.
