He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University in 1990 and his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1996. After admission to the Florida Bar that same year, John began representing Social Security claimants before moving to an insurance defense firm specializing in workers’ compensation and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act claims. Since 1999, he has devoted his practice solely to representing injured individuals. As a partner with Osborne & Sharpless and later Winer Law Group in Tampa, he has handled complex claims under the Defense Base Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Florida State Workers’ Compensation, and Social Security Disability. Board Certified in workers’ compensation law since 2002 and continuously recertified through 2027, John was also recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in 2007. He is licensed before all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
