Mariko then served in numerous capacities as a Reservist, most recently filling the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant and Deputy Family Readiness Officer for Engineer Support Company, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, out of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Mariko also serves as the Chief Operations Officer and on the Board of Directors for the Corporal Christopher K. Willis Foundation, a committee member for Ducks Unlimited Greater Kalamazoo, and is a member of the Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club, the National Rifle Association, and the Kalamazoo Detachment of the Marine Corps League.

Mariko is very active in the community, volunteering and supporting many local charitable organizations. When out of the office, Mariko enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time with her son, Tyson.
