Since 2014, Mark Wisniewski has served as the Kitch firm’s Chair and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, Mr. Wisniewski co-chairs the firm’s asbestos liability mass tort defense practices. Since joining the Kitch firm in 1990, Mr. Wisniewski has served as first chair in several multi-million dollar statewide property damage lawsuits, with a particular emphasis on cases involving asbestos. He has been called in by clients to assist local counsel as lead trial counsel in asbestos personal injury cases in multiple jurisdictions across the country. He has lectured to client and attorney groups on asbestos litigation and been the moderator of judicial panels regarding discovery and trial tactics. Mr. Wisniewski’s experience also extends to medical malpractice, products liability and premises liability defense.
Mr. Wisniewski has been honored annually since 2018 on DBusiness’ Detroit 500-The Most Powerful Business Leaders in Metro Detroit list. He has also been named a Top Lawyer in product liability by DBusiness. The Best Lawyers in America recognized Mr. Wisniewski as a top lawyer in the category of Mass Tort Litigation/Class Actions - Defendants for 2024, 2025, and 2026. Additionally, Mr. Wisniewski has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer. Only five percent of the attorneys in the state are named Super Lawyers. He previously served as the President of the Law School Alumni Association and was awarded the Law School’s Time and Talent Award in 2016. In the past, Mr. Wisniewski served as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and on the Law School’s Dean Selection Committee. In 2014, Mr. Wisniewski was honored by his high School, De La Salle Collegiate High School, for his contributions to the community, school and education. In the 1990’s, Mr. Wisniewski served on the Board of Trustees of De La Salle Collegiate High School.
Mr. Wisniewski received his J.D. from the University of Detroit School of Law, where he was Associate Editor of the Law Review and Vice President of the Student Bar Association. He also earned an A.B. in Political Science and American History from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Mr. Wisniewski also worked as a probation officer in the District of Columbia during college.
