As a native of Miami, Matthew grew up watching this city evolve into the remarkable international hub it has famously become – a unique blend of culture, diversity, and success – and considers himself fortunate to now practice in the international arena. He attended Maritime and Science Technology (MAST) Academy for high school before earning his B.A. at Florida State University in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies.
Matthew returned home from law school and earned his juris doctor cum laude at the University of Miami School of Law in 2016. During his time at Miami Law, He served as a judicial intern for the Honorable James T. Wolf of the Florida First District Court of Appeal, participated in the Children and Youth Law Clinic representing children in the foster care system, and chaired “UNetworking: Evening with Esquires,” an annual networking banquet that brings together 200 students and attorneys representing over a dozen fields of law.
Additionally, Matthew was an active member of several student organizations at Miami Law, including the Charles C. Papy Moot Court Board, through which he competed in the 2015 ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Seattle, Washington. He was also dedicated to the law school’s student government – the Student Bar Association – and ultimately served as SBA President during his third year.
Matthew trained at AMK as a law clerk and joined the firm as an associate in September 2016.
