Upon graduating law school, Matt entered active-duty service as a judge advocate (JAG) in the United States Marine Corps. During approximately ten years on active-duty, Matthew completed assignments in Okinawa, Japan, southern California, and at Headquarters Marine Corps in Arlington, VA. During this time, Matt gained significant litigation experience as a criminal defense attorney where he represented numerous military clients facing serious allegations for complex felonies like manslaughter, sexual assault, domestic abuse, assault, and grand larceny. Matt left active-duty service in 2017 but continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Matt gained civil litigation experience working for a boutique law firm in the Tampa Bay area, where he focused primarily on catastrophic personal injury and insurance bad faith cases in state and federal courts.
