He also earned Bachelor of Arts Degrees in both Sport Management & Communication and Art History, with distinction, from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2005.
Mr. Karman is involved in wide range of legal general practice, with an emphasis on representing financial institutions, governmental entities, municipalities, businesses, housing agencies, as well as families and individuals. His main focuses include civil litigation, collection and creditors' rights, bankruptcies (on behalf of both debtors and creditors), contracts and commercial transactions, municipal, criminal prosecutions, real estate, and employment law. In law school, Mr. Karman participated in UDM Law's groundbreaking Veterans' Legal Clinic, where he had the opportunity to personally meet and work directly on the cases of hundreds of veterans throughout the country as a part of the clinic's well-publicized Project SALUTE. He was also the co-President and co-Founder of the UDM Sport and Entertainment Law Society, as well as an active member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and G. Mennen Williams Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Karman is a life-long Downriver resident, having grown up on Grosse Ile and currently residing there with his wife, Ellen, and their dog (Daisy) and cat (Lloyd). Alongside his ardent passion for the law, Mr. Karman is an avid University of Michigan Football fan, having worked with the team as a student manager during his undergraduate years there.
