Growing up in Tampa, Mr. Roy was inspired to become a trial lawyer and serve as a criminal prosecutor. His ambition led him to South Texas College of Law, where he earned numerous accolades including Best Speaker in the Nation at the National Invitational Mock Trial Competition, also known as the “The Tournament of Champions.” Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1992, Mr. Roy became an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County prosecuting misdemeanor and felony criminal cases on behalf of the State of Florida.

His career path diverged from public service when, in 1996, he became employed with a local insurance defense law firm, defending personal injury, liability and insurance lawsuits on behalf of numerous large corporations such as State Farm®, Allstate®, Nationwide®, American Express®, Bankers Insurance and Atlanta Casualty Insurance Company.

Driven by his passion for fair and ethical representation, Mr. Roy joined Kinney, Fernandez & Boire in 2000. Throughout his career he has served as counsel in approximately 60 jury trials and over 100 non-jury trials, as well as litigated thousands of cases on behalf of his clients. His total jury trial verdicts obtained exceed $4 million.

Through his work, Mr. Roy serves as a trusted advisor, engaging and educating clients so that they feel confident throughout the legal process. He prides himself on taking the time to understand the challenges his clients endure, so that he may better advocate on their behalf.
