Robert Wright is a founding partner of the firm and has a long history of successfully representing corporate, governmental, and individual clients in a wide range of cases involving unfair competition, product liability, antitrust, securities, corporate, banking, fidelity bond, real estate, trust and estate, and employment, constitutional, and admiralty law. He has considerable experience with complex procedural matters, including mass tort, coordinated, and class actions. In addition to representing clients in federal and state courts, arbitration panels, and before an international jury, Robert has argued appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court.
Known for his prowess in complex, high-level litigation, outstanding client service, and vigorous advocacy on behalf of his clients, Robert shares his expertise as a speaker and author locally and nationally. He is often asked to partner with out-of-state firms as local counsel due to his extensive knowledge of discovery, pretrial and trial procedures in California and federal courts.
Robert has earned a variety of accolades throughout his career and received the Spirit of CEB Award from the State Bar of California and the University of California for his career contributions to education on civil litigation. For over 30 years, he has co-authored and updated California Civil Discovery Practice, a leading treatise in the field. He has been recognized among the Best Lawyers of America in commercial and securities litigation, has been named one of the “Best Lawyers” in San Diego by San Diego Magazine, and was named a “Super Lawyer” in business litigation several times. He is a Life Member of the American Law Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Diego School of Law, where he has taught pretrial litigation and trial advocacy since 1986. Wright is also a Master in the American Inns of Court, Louis Welsh Chapter.
Robert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Occidental College and a Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of Law.
