Bob has more than forty years of experience specializing in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, estate taxation and valuations, Internal Revenue Service audits, domicile planning, charitable foundation planning, business entities, and real estate. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University in 1968, a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1974, a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University School of Law in 1979, and a Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981.

Prior to forming Simses & Associates in 2001, Bob was a partner with the Connecticut-based law firm of Cummings & Lockwood. He joined that firm in 1981 and became the partner-in-charge of its Palm Beach office in 1995. Before joining Cummings & Lockwood Bob spent five years as a senior tax law specialist with the Office of Chief Counsel in the national office of the Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C. Bob was also on active duty for three years as a member of the Naval Administrative Unit at the White House, where he served aboard the presidential yachts.

Bob is a trustee of the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Foundation, a director of the Par 3 Foundation, a trustee of the First Tee national organization, and is on the board of a number of private foundations. Bob previously served as Chairman of the Board of NYMAGIC, Inc., a former New York Stock Exchange listed marine and commercial aviation insurance company, and Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Working Partners Foundation. Bob has had more than twenty-five years of experience as a director on private school boards, having served on the board of Oxbridge Academy, the Palm Beach Day Academy, and the Academy of the Palm Beaches. In addition, he is a past President, Chief Executive Officer and director of The William H. Pitt Foundation and a former director of Friends of Recreation, Inc., among other organizations.

Bob is admitted to the practice of law in Florida and Connecticut. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, East Coast Estate Planning Council, Florida Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
